Jamb admission: Would you like to know if you have received an offer of admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal to your selected university, polytechnic, college, or other tertiary institution?

Jamb Admission Portal

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) management has made the portal accessible so that applicants for Direct Entry and UTME can now check or confirm their admission status for all years.

On the JAMB portal, checking your admission status is completely free! In fact, it’s possible that some schools, universities, and polytechnics won’t even post their admissions list on time on their own site or notice board.

To find out if they have been offered admission, candidates who applied for admission to these institutions may check their admission status on the JAMB Admission Status Checking Portal.

How Jamb Caps Works

The Central Admission Processing System was created by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to simplify the admissions application process for Nigeria’s higher education institutions (CAPS).

Additionally, it ensures that the admissions procedure is of the highest caliber, open, and reliable.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB’s) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) streamlines the admissions process, addresses the drawbacks of the manual method, restores the autonomy of tertiary institutions with regard to admissions.

Also, it focuses on candidates and equips them with knowledge about institutions and programs that are available, increases the number of admission opportunities, eliminates multiple admissions, and provides data that is easily retrievable.

How to Check Jamb Admission Status

If you don’t already have a JAMB account, you will need to register one in order to check your admission status (particularly for applicants who applied in 2016 and after). How to Create a JAMB Account is Recommended.

If you already have a JAMB profile, proceed to the next five (5) easy steps to the JAMB Admission List portal to verify your admission status.

  • They can accept or reject their admission by logging into the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
  • Recommended: The JAMB CAPS Rejection/Acceptance Process.
  • After accepting the admission, they should print their JAMB admission letter. This will be required for registration and clearance.
  • Print their authentic JAMB scorecard (this comes with passport photography affixed to it).
  • If students are offered courses other than the ones they originally applied for, they should use the JAMB Portal to request a change of course.

What to Do if the Status of Your Jamb Admission is “Not Yet Admitted”

Still not admitted? If so, kindly be aware of the following:

1. Sign on to Jamb Caps to Confirm the Upload of Your O-level results.

A failure to post your O’level results may have an impact on your JAMB admission status, thus it’s critical to check if they have been uploaded on the JAMB portal or not.

  1. Access your JAMB profile by logging in at https://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility /.)
  2. ‘Check Admission Status,’ then click.
  3. Select “Access my CAPS”
  4. To check if your O’level has been submitted, click on “My O’level.” If not, upload your O’level results at any local authorized JAMB CBT center. Candidates whose O’level status in CAPS reads “Awaiting Result” cannot have their admission requests handled.

2. Check to see if a Transfer to Another Program has been Recommended for You.

According to the JAMB CAPS implementation policy, institutions have the right to consider transferring some candidates due to UTME and O’level combinations from the choice program to another program.

Candidates must check their acceptance by following steps a through c above, then click the ‘Transfer Approval’ link to find out if a recommendation has been made for them to transfer to another program.

This transfer consideration must be approved or denied by you.

If you agree, the institution of your first choice will be able to accept you into the new program. You will continue in your desired Course/Program if you Reject. There won’t be any change to the program transfer.

3. You Applied for the Jamb Utme with Awaiting Result.

Candidates who indicated they were “awaiting result” while registration must upload their O-Level results to the JAMB portal in order for their preferred university to process their admission.

Direct-entry candidates, including JUPEB students, should upload their A’level and O’level results as well to avoid disqualification.

This will help the screening personnel evaluate whether they meet the requirements for admittance. How to Upload O’Level Results on JAMB Portal / Profile is advised.

When you accept the admission, your search for admission is over because you are no longer eligible for consideration by other schools. If you decline the admission, however, you open yourself up to consideration for admission by other schools with open spots.
