The institution had her first inaugural ceremony on 29th May, 2010; and academic programmes commenced on 10th June 2010. The name of the Institution then was Youth Empowerment Foundation Manpower Development Centre (YEFMADEC) and the take off campus was at Agip Fingerlings House, along Chief James Onanefe IboriÕs way Mosogar.

The Institute received influx of students seeking admission into different programmes in 2011. As a result, we were faced with accommodation problem. This prompted our migration to the transitional campus; at Ighoyota Campus, Ugbokpa Mosogar. The Institution recorded geometric progress in industrial, innovation and manpower development revolution. The management commenced the process of upgrading the Institution in 2011. On the 29th May 2013 the Youth Empowerment Foundation Manpower Development Centre (YEFMADEC) was officially upgraded to Yefmadec Institute of Science and Technology (YISAT) Mosogar, Delta State. After this epoch making achievement, the management wrote an academic brief for the approval / Resource inspection visit to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Kaduna. The Yefmadec Institute of Science and Technology (YISAT) was approved and accredited by NBTE Kaduna on the 13th August to 16th August 2015. The NBTE Kaduna accredited programmes for now are NID Computer Software Engineering and Digital Multimedia Technology. The Institute has also set up committee to facilitate academic brief for the accreditation of more programmes to accommodate our ever increasing youths seeking admission into higher institution. Now that we are Polytechnic approved and programmes accredited; to run two years programmes and also award National Diplomas, we are poised to serving you better.
