About Lagos State Polytechnic LASPOTECH
It is pertinent to mention that this page focuses strictly on the Lagos State Polytechnic LASPOTECH school fees schedule. However, it will not be out of place if we give a brief about this school popularly known as Laspotech.
Laspotech is a state-owned Polytechnic which was created in 1978. As at that time, the tertiary institution was known as the Lagos State College of Science and Technology.
The Lagos State Polytechnic began lectures in less than a year. And this was after its establishment but could only boast of 287 students during its first year.
LASPOTECH Departments
The Lagos State College of Science and Technology (as it was formerly called) had just five departments in the first year of its existence. These departments include:
- Management and Business Studies.
- Basic Studies.
- Insurance.
- Secretarial Studies.
- Accountancy and Finance.
However, after ten years of its existence, the institution had a change of name. It was renamed The Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) in 1988. And this was by the then-governor of the state Brigadier General Raji Rasaki.
Having moved from one developmental stage to another, LASPOTECH currently has over 50,000 students. And this is more than 800 teaching staff.
Additionally, it has three campuses, which are located in:
- Isolo.
- Surulere.
- Ikosi.
Interesting Fact about LASPOTECH
It is important to note that having started with just five departments, LASPOTECH now has Seven Colleges (29 courses) for OND students. Also, it has Six Colleges for HND students. The Colleges for both OND and HND students are:
- School or College of Agriculture
- School or College Of Management And Business Studies
- The School or College of Environmental Studies
- School or College of Technology
- School or College of Communication And Liberal Studies
- The School or College of Pure And Applied Science
- School or college of Engineering Technology.
LASPOTECH Cut-off Mark for Admission Seekers
Before we look at LASPOTECH School Fees, know this. For every student who wants to be a full-time student of the university, you’re advised to pass your UTME exam.
This is because the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has all it takes to give you admission into LASPOTECH.
In fact, aspiring students will be admitted into the institution by Jamb officials. However, it depends on your SSCE and UTME results. Be that as it may, the school can offer admissions to qualified students.

LASPOTECH’s school fees for fresh and returning students are paid every session. Please note that they are paid per semester.
