It trains officer cadets for commissioning into one of the three services of the Nigerian Armed Forces:
The duration of training at the Nigerian Defence Academy is five years (four years academic and one-year military).
The NDA was established in February 1964. This was as a reformation of the British-run Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC). This had been renamed the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC) on independence.
The military institution trains the officer corps of the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force.
In 1981 it began bilateral training of foreign militaries. Interestingly, in 1985 the academy commenced offering undergraduate programmes to Military Officers in Training.
Currently, it offers postgraduate studies both for MSc and PhD. And this is for both military and civilian students alike.
The central mission remains the training of young officer cadets in the 5 years “Regular Combatant Course” in which a cadet is groomed in the Military,
NDA Admission Requirements

NDA Acceptance Fee
Aside from NDA school fees for Cadets for the 2022/2023 session which must be paid in full upon admission, note. We should not be in a hurry to forget the fact that the acceptance fee is also to be paid. This is the first compulsory nonrefundable fee payable by fresh Cadets.
NDA Acceptance Fee is currently N35,000 for all newly admitted cadets.
Accommodation Fee for Fresh Students (Cadets)
Along with the NDA school fees, an accommodation fee is to be paid. Unlike universities where accommodation is based on a first come first serve basis, NDA accommodation is enough to contain all new recruits.
Thus, all fresh cadets are required to stay within the school environment. Life in NDA is a bit scripted. So you need to be up and doing since your mental doggedness would go a long way in helping you graduate successfully.
The accommodation Fee is N45,000 for cadets.
