How to Apply for NPR internships

Visit our Career Portal to get the full job description and qualifications for each position that is open.

You can build a profile on the portal and upload writing examples, a cover letter, and a CV (when appropriate).

Multiple internship applications are acceptable. Name each file with the internship title if you are uploading over one cover letter.

Applications for internships in the fall of 2022–2023 will start the week of June 13, 2022. Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.

ET is the application deadline. By the start of September, they will inform all applicants in either case.

The positions for the summer 2022 semester internships have all been filled. We know that some individuals did not receive the email of notification.

Please know that your application was fully taken into consideration even if you didn’t receive an email.

At the end of December 2022 or the start of January 2023, applications for the Summer 2023 semester will go on sale.

Twice a year, NPR provides internship semesters. The Fall/Winter semester is 28 weeks long, while the Summer semester is 12 weeks.
