Mandates of Electricity Management Services Limited

According to the NEMSA Act of 2015, the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) performs the following duties:
1. Inspect electrical services for the NESI
2. Make sure that they followed all technical electrical standards and regulations as required by the constitution through the Electricity regulatory commission.
3. Partner with the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) and other government agencies that are concerned to make sure that all electrical materials that are deployed and used in Nigeria are of good and standard quality.
4. Make sure that the power network and systems that are installed have been properly tested and verified before they are used just to ensure that the systems that are put to use can deliver a reliable, safe, and sustainable supply of electricity to electricity consumers across the nation.
5. Impose strict compliance with technical standards when it has to do with installations of electrical materials as well as plants which includes ancillary systems and power plants, connectivity to the grid, and electric networks.
6. Enforce the parameters for the installation of meters for transmission systems, the supply of electricity, and distribution networks.

Nigerian Electricity Management Services Qualification requirements
1. B.Sc., HND, NCE, or OND from an accredited college in any discipline
2. Applicants cannot be older than 35.
3. The West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC), with at least passes in two (2) additional courses and credits in a minimum of three (3) subjects, including English;
4. Candidates must possess a National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with four (4) or five (5) passes, including the English Language, in a single sitting or two sittings.
5. ND, or National Diploma, earned from an accredited institution. a nationally recognized institution’s National Certificate of Education (NCE); or
6. General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two (2) or three (3) topics, acquired in one sitting or two sittings.
